This is Sawsan Abubaker one of the founders of Advocates for Justice. First of all, thank you very much for this article.
I agree with you we shouldn’t need to cram into public libraries to watch an Oscar winning documentary or any other documentary for that matter that exposes the realities of those living under oppressive rule.
I do want to clarify one point in the article. The No Other Land screening in Wheaton was not planned due to the screening in Aurora being cancelled. Advocates for Justice travels to different cities to educate the community about the realities of Palestinian life under occupation. We had this screening planned before the Aurora situation took place.
We are living in very sad times when Americans are being labeled just for exercising their rights to free speech and speaking up against the bloodshed and genocide our tax dollars are funding. We will use every avenue at our disposal to expose the truth.
The American public needs to be made aware that our fight for Palestinian rights and freedom is not antisemitic nor is it a call for hatred against the Jewish community. What Israel has been doing to the Palestinians for over 76 years has gotten us to where we are today. The Jewish community is also being harmed by the Zionist policies of ethnic cleansing, genocide, home demolitions, dehumanization and apartheid.
Awareness and education are key for us, as everyday civilians, to stand up against any kind of injustice. We need to come together as human beings and speak up for those that do not have a voice. We need to continue to gather and learn to build unity and solidarity. No matter how hard the powers that be want to divide us.
We will continue to screen No Other Land as well. The rights of the documentary are exchanging hands at the moment that is why we haven’t scheduled any screenings. As soon as that process is complete, we will schedule additional screenings. You can follow Advocates for Justice on instagram to find out where our next screening will take place.
We look forward to seeing you there and having you join the conversation :)
I was directed toward a site called Gathr. I scrolled down and there was No Other Land.
It said FREE. I clicked on it and some private screening from 5/4 popped up. Did not work.
I went back to the top of the page and there it said that a private screening was available at 13.99$ ea. I clicked on that and - nothing.
I still want to watch it and don't mind paying for it since I would pay for it in a theatre. Alas, this is not possible since our Nazis in government seem to have banned viewing of this film of which I only saw the trailer. It is a stunning film, just from the little pieces I saw.
Consider the absence of Gaza updates across legacy media outlets. Silence while Palestinians are being starved to death and denied medical care. Took out electricity now. Dreadful 😮💨😪
They tried not to let you see it. They are such cowards. They do this, but they want the world to be blind to it so they can say we’re good people when in reality they’re not. And I’m not being antisemitic I’m being real because their hate is so disgusting.
The difference between ‘anti-Semitic’ and ‘anti-Zionist/anti-Israel’ is massive. The first dislikes a person or a group of people because of their religion. The second is a judgement based on the country’s actions and war crimes. I am definitely anti-Zionist, and definitely not anti-Semitic.
We had 2 screenings because the first sold out!! I was really surprised because we have a large Jewish community in our small city…the truth can’t be hidden forever. It was so different and raw of the day to day… so important to see!
Good for the library, you, and all the audience, and shame on the movie theatres! This is an incredibly powerful and important film that every adult in America should see.
I’m going to ask my local library to show it. I’m not sure if they will. Liberal area but very close to DC. I feel like they might be worried about backlash
It is up to each of us, regardless of work or birth circumstances, to cooperate as ordinary people with shared humanitarian and intergenerational aspirations.
Clearly, a glaring lesson of history is that governments around the world have repeatedly failed to make efforts to let a broad-based and public democratic scoping of this tragic situation be the source of alternative remedies that can endure.
We people must cooperate and discuss practical solutions. This conflict and this set of human tragedies is not a stand alone event; we must see ourselves as necessary solution-makers in finding alternative paths to conflict resolution and the humanly doable path to co-existing, somewhat dissimilar societies and self-governing entities.
The key or at least an important key is that we share in common a future on a planet. We must cooperate to care for each other, inclusively and to care for our living home, our planet.
I am so sick of this Fascist love affair with Netanyahu! We definitely should all try to see this film/documentary. I hold nothing against the people of Israel. Like us, many hate their leader. It is the criminal Netanyahu who I have a big issue with.
HOW am I living in a country where they are censoring films about Us supported genocide? I don't belong here. THIS country is an abomination right now.
BTW, for all who are wondering where you can watch, you can stream it until May 9. It’s a fundraiser—please watch and pass it on!

You can watch Holy Redemption and where Olive Trees weep. They’re both good documentaries of what is happening.
I am sorry! The film was only available for a week, until May 9. It is horrible it’s being censored—it’s indeed incredibly powerful.
Thank you! 🧡

Definitely need to go watch this at its next screening.
Put the film online at Substack.
The arc of history is always towards truth. It’s a matter of time.

How do I get a copy so I can set up public viewing???
Why am I always so shocked when hate and racism are upheld. Thank you for sharing this. When my heart is healed, I will watch. ❤️🩹
